A pediatric dentist is different than a family dentist. Think of pediatric dentists as the “pediatricians” of dentistry. In order to become a pediatric dentist, our doctors completed two additional years of specialty training following their four year dental school education.

In their specialty training, pediatric dentists become experienced in behavior guidance techniques to help children have a pleasant and painless dental experience. They are experts in the treatment of baby teeth, supervision of orofacial growth and development, cavity prevention, and pharmacological management. In addition, pediatric dentists receive specialty training in treating children with special health care needs.
